My organization, Policy Analysis and Research Project (PARP) is a parliamentary capacity strengthening initiative of the National Assembly of Nigeria through the use of networking and database development. The IT Unit updates current information and data on the parliament website as well as works in conjunction with the Nigerian National Assembly IT Unit to build up the networking infrastructure in the Nigerian Parliament.
Involved in targeted database development, administration of PARP’s Local Area Network and internet network infrastructure at the Nigeria National Assembly. Management, as well as update and maintenance of the National Assembly integrated website.

I have working knowledge of Windows Operating System, Mac OS, Linux and I have little knowledge of Unix. I have used packet tracer and wire shark.
My organization connects directly to the internet via an Internet operator using V-Sat. We use an always on connection which enables connection to the world wide web (www).

I have a Bachelor degree in Computer Science and a Masters' degree in Mobile Computing. This has given me basic background knowledge of this track which I am highly interested in attending and gaining valuable knowledge from.
My organization has an internet facility which is connected to a network and has a server, switches, modem and router.
Working with these facilities has given me basic knowledge about networking systems and tools. It has also made me want to learn further about administering and managing network infrastructure.
How you expect to use the knowledge you gain at the workshop after you return to your country*

As the internet continues to grow in Nigeria and networking has become an integral part IT, the knowledge which I will gain from this programme will be valuable towards the growth of IT in my country.
The programme will arm me with the skills necessary for setting up, configuring and administrating networks at my organization as well as make me more efficient and effective in the area of service delivery in my organization.
In addition, this will help me to be fully involve and contribute towards the growth and development of the internet and IT at parliament in the Nigeria National Assembly.
